The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced on Sunday that over 10,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from the Middle East have been repatriated, while approximately 35,000 have received financial assistance, according to a report from BusinessWorld .

The DMW said it is continuously providing $200 to affected workers, including those whose shifts have been cut or who were asked to take a break. The cash aid aims to support OFWs facing economic hardship amid reduced work hours and job disruptions in the region.

The repatriation and financial assistance efforts underscore the Philippine government’s commitment to protecting its overseas workforce, particularly in the Middle East where many OFWs are employed in sectors vulnerable to economic fluctuations.
