According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, adidas has unveiled the Anthony Edwards 2 “Magpakitang Gilas,” a sneaker that pays homage to the passion for basketball in the Philippines. The silhouette is Edwards’ second signature model, and this colorway draws directly from Filipino culture and the term “magpakitang gilas,” which roughly means to show skill or flair on the court.

The shoe features a predominantly white upper with blue and red accents, mirroring the colors of the Philippine flag. Subtle design details include the Philippine sun and stars motif on the tongue and heel, as well as a special insole graphic celebrating Pinoy basketball. The midsole combines Lightstrike and Boost cushioning for performance.

The adidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Magpakitang Gilas” is expected to release later this year in limited quantities, catering to Filipino sneakerheads and collectors. This launch continues adidas’ tradition of creating region-specific colorways that connect global athletes to local basketball culture.
