Listed holding company Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) posted a more than 50% jump in net income for the first half of 2026, its core power and banking businesses delivering strong results, Philstar Biz reported.
The conglomerate attributed the earnings boost to higher electricity sales from its generation and distribution operations, along with increased lending and fee income from its banking arm. The power segment remains AEV's largest earnings contributor, while its banking unit has been expanding its customer base and digital services.
The results reflect the group's diversified portfolio, which also includes infrastructure, food, and real estate. AEV said it remains optimistic about the rest of the year, citing sustained demand for power and financial services amid the country's economic recovery.
