Agricultural exports rose 33.2% year on year in April to $1.03 billion, according to a report by BusinessWorld, citing data from the Philippine Statistics Authority. Month on month, exports were up 38.5% from March.

In contrast, agricultural imports fell 3.7% year on year to $1.63 billion in April. On a monthly basis, imports declined 18.4%, narrowing the trade deficit in the sector.

Two-way trade in agricultural goods rose 7.8% year on year, reflecting stronger export performance despite the decline in inbound shipments.
