Alibaba is positioning itself for the next phase of artificial intelligence adoption, having unified its major AI teams and expanded its global cloud infrastructure, according to TechPinas. The company reported milestones from the first half of 2026, emphasizing a shift from experimentation to broader deployment of AI across industries.
The company introduced new Qwen, HappyHorse, and HappyOyster models, and expanded the Qwen ecosystem with consumer tools, enterprise platforms, and AI-powered wearables. Alibaba Cloud now operates 105 availability zones across 32 regions, backed by a US$53 billion infrastructure commitment.
Beyond infrastructure, Alibaba is applying AI to healthcare and agriculture, leveraging full-stack capabilities from proprietary chips to applications. The company said it aims to support enterprises pursuing digital transformation and increasingly demanding AI workloads.
