The water level of Angat Dam on Thursday dipped to another record low despite inclement weather caused by localized thunderstorms, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) as reported by BusinessWorld.

Angat Dam’s water level declined by 0.39 meters to 156.68 meters on Thursday from 157.07 meters on Wednesday, PAGASA said in its 8:00 a.m. bulletin. The new record low comes even as thunderstorms brought rainfall over the watershed area in recent days.

The dam, which supplies water to Metro Manila and irrigates farms in Central Luzon, has been under close watch amid the continued decline in water levels. PAGASA urged continued conservation measures as the dry season persists.
