THE August Twenty-One Movement (ATOM) has condemned the Sandiganbayan’s dismissal of a 35-year-old ill-gotten wealth case against the Marcos family, as reported by BusinessWorld .

In a resolution promulgated on June 2 and made public last week, the anti-graft court’s Special Division terminated Civil Case No. 0141, a forfeiture petition, after the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) manifested that it could no longer proceed with the case..

ATOM criticized the ruling, calling it a setback to the pursuit of justice and accountability for alleged ill-gotten wealth accumulated during the Marcos administration. The group urged the government to explore other legal avenues to recover allegedly stolen assets.
