Ayala Corp.'s logistics unit, AC Logistics Holdings Corp., has completed the sale of a 40% stake to A.P. Moller Capital, an infrastructure fund manager affiliated with Denmark's A.P. Moller Holding, the parent of shipping and logistics company A.P. Moller-Maersk, according to a joint statement reported by BusinessWorld.
The joint statement, dated July 7, confirmed that the transaction has been finalized. The investment by A.P. Moller Capital is expected to bring international expertise and capital to support the growth of AC Logistics, which operates warehousing, freight forwarding, and other supply chain services in the Philippines.
The partnership aligns with Ayala Corp.'s strategy to expand its logistics footprint and tap into the growing demand for integrated logistics solutions in the country. A.P. Moller Capital's involvement is seen as a vote of confidence in the Philippine logistics sector, which has been bolstered by e-commerce growth and infrastructure development.
