BDO Unibank Inc. is providing financing to budget carrier Cebu Pacific for the acquisition of two additional Airbus A320neo aircraft, according to a report by Philstar Biz. The move supports the airline’s fleet expansion as it seeks to meet growing demand for domestic and regional travel.
The A320neo aircraft are known for improved fuel efficiency and lower operating costs, aligning with Cebu Pacific’s strategy to modernize its fleet while keeping fares competitive. The financing from BDO, one of the Philippines’ largest banks, underscores the lender’s continued support for the aviation sector, which is rebounding strongly from pandemic lows.
Cebu Pacific has been aggressively adding capacity to capture rising leisure and business travel across its network. The additional aircraft will help the airline increase flight frequencies and open new routes, contributing to the broader recovery of Philippine tourism and trade.
