The Bureau of Customs (BoC) generated P329.93 million from the auction and negotiated sale of seized and forfeited goods in the first five months of 2026, it said on Thursday, as reported by BusinessWorld.

In a statement, the agency said public auctions and negotiated sales are among its methods for disposing of confiscated goods while ensuring transparency and accountability. The revenue contributes to the government’s coffers and helps cover storage and handling costs of seized items.

The BoC regularly auctions off goods that have been forfeited due to customs violations, including smuggled electronics, vehicles, and other commodities. The process is conducted publicly to maintain integrity in the disposal of government-held assets.
