According to the Daily Tribune, BPI has tapped 1,369 stores across the Philippines to serve as cash transaction points, enabling clients to deposit, withdraw, or transfer funds outside traditional bank branches.
The initiative expands BPI’s cash-in/cash-out network through partnerships with convenience stores, pharmacies, and other retail outlets, reducing the need for customers to visit brick-and-mortar branches for basic banking needs.
This move aligns with BPI’s digital banking strategy and aims to improve financial access for unbanked and underbanked Filipinos, particularly in areas with limited banking infrastructure.
