The Caraga region has opened a one-stop shop for packaging services to support local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), according to a report by Inquirer.net. The facility aims to provide affordable and accessible packaging solutions to help MSMEs enhance the presentation and shelf appeal of their products.

Located in Butuan City, the packaging hub offers services such as labeling, sealing, and custom packaging design. It is equipped with basic machinery and materials to assist small businesses that previously had to travel to larger cities or hire costly third-party packagers. The initiative is led by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Caraga in partnership with local government units and academic institutions.

The one-stop shop is expected to reduce production costs for MSMEs and improve their competitiveness in both local and national markets. DTI officials emphasized that better packaging can extend product shelf life, comply with regulatory requirements, and attract more buyers. The region, known for its agricultural and handicraft products, stands to benefit from the streamlined packaging support.
