Chinese home appliance manufacturer Midea has opened its first concept store in the Visayas and Mindanao region through a partnership with local retailer Echo Appliance, Cebu Daily News reported. The store is located in Cebu City, marking Midea's expansion beyond its traditional Luzon stronghold.
The showroom will carry a full range of Midea products, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and kitchen appliances. Echo Appliance, a homegrown electronics retailer in Cebu, will operate the store and provide after-sales service to customers in the region.
The partnership reflects Midea's strategy to strengthen its retail presence in provincial areas and tap into the growing demand for home appliances in the Visayas and Mindanao. Industry observers note that the move could intensify competition among appliance brands in the region.
