Data governance concerns are hampering artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in the Philippines, according to a study commissioned by AI data activation company Boomi and conducted by Omdia, as reported by BusinessWorld. The survey found that many local organizations lack the necessary data architecture to generate returns on their growing AI investments.

Despite 73% of Philippine organizations already running AI initiatives, the study highlighted that inadequate data governance frameworks and fragmented data systems are preventing these firms from fully leveraging AI. The findings underscore the critical need for robust data management strategies to support AI scalability and performance.

Industry experts note that without proper data governance, AI models may produce unreliable outputs, leading to poor decision-making. The study recommends that organizations prioritize data quality, accessibility, and security to unlock AI's full potential and achieve measurable business outcomes.
