DoE says EDC bid must not affect power supply

(EDC), the country’s largest geothermal power producer, on the country's power supply, though it has yet to receive formal notice of the deal. Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin, as reported by BusinessWorld, emphasized that any transaction must not disrupt power supply.

EDC is the largest geothermal power producer in the Philippines, and the proposed acquisition is significant for the energy sector. The DoE's assessment will focus on ensuring that the deal does not negatively affect the country's power generation and supply stability.

The DoE has not yet received a formal notification from the parties involved, but Secretary Garin said the agency will closely monitor the situation and take necessary steps to protect the public interest in terms of energy security.
