The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) will launch ONWARD: Philippine Non-woven Textile Innovation on July 1 at the SM North EDSA Annex Atrium, as reported by Philstar Biz.
The initiative introduces non-woven textiles developed through specialized machines and facilities, aiming to advance sustainable, natural fiber–based alternatives to synthetic plastics. These materials can be used across a wide range of applications, from packaging to hygiene products.
ONWARD represents a strategic push by DOST-PTRI to promote local innovation in non-woven textile production, leveraging natural fibers to reduce reliance on petroleum-based plastics and support the country's sustainability goals.
