eTap Inc. is celebrating its 11th anniversary this June, marking over a decade of providing accessible financial services to Filipinos. Founded in 2015 with just two employees, the Makati-based fintech company now employs over 1,000 people and has served more than 16 million unique customers through its nationwide network of 7,000 self-service cash and transaction machines, as reported by TechPinas.
The company has focused on bridging the gap between traditional cash transactions and digital financial services, particularly for underserved communities in rural areas where access to banks and online tools remains limited. With over 70 offices across the Philippines, eTap’s self-service machines allow users to pay bills, transfer money, and perform other transactions without needing a bank account or internet connection.
Chairman Percy Hernandez and CEO Marlon Portugal founded the company on June 25, 2015, with the mission of integrating cash-based users into the digital economy. As it enters its 11th year, eTap aims to strengthen financial inclusion through technology, security, and partnerships, further supporting Filipinos who lack access to formal financial systems.
