The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) is urging the government to act on key economic issues, even after President Marcos’s 5th State of the Nation Address last week focused on the business sector’s concerns. In a statement reported by Philstar Biz, the group said concrete follow-through is still needed.
Among the FFCCCII’s concerns are wages, the deteriorating peso-dollar exchange rate that makes agricultural input imports more expensive, higher oil prices, costly energy, and the lack of investments. The group said these factors continue to weigh on businesses and consumers, undermining the administration’s economic agenda.
The FFCCCII’s call highlights the business sector’s expectations for decisive action following the president’s promises. Addressing these issues, industry observers said, could help stabilize prices, support local industries, and attract the investments needed to sustain economic growth.
