Lopez-led First Gen Corp. is moving forward with its P6-billion pumped storage hydro project in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija, as the company announced it is ready to commence development, according to Philstar Biz.

The project, which aims to enhance grid stability and support renewable energy integration, is expected to provide significant power storage capacity. First Gen's initiative aligns with the country's push for cleaner energy sources and infrastructure modernization.

Once completed, the pumped storage facility will help manage peak demand and store excess power from renewable sources like solar and wind. The development marks a major step for First Gen in expanding its clean energy portfolio in the Philippines.
