According to YugaTech, Francisco Motors has officially entered the electric vehicle market with the launch of the Elektron, its first fully electric passenger SUV. The vehicle is priced starting at ₱1,947,000, positioning it as a competitive option in the growing Philippine EV segment.
The Elektron SUV is designed for urban and suburban use, with an estimated driving range suitable for daily commutes. While specific battery capacity and motor output details are yet to be fully disclosed, the vehicle aims to offer a practical electric alternative to traditional internal combustion engine SUVs in the local market.
The launch comes as the Philippine government pushes for greater EV adoption through executive orders and incentives. Francisco Motors, a long-established local automotive brand, is now joining other manufacturers in transitioning toward electrification, signaling a shift in the country's automotive landscape.
