The suspension of the Green Energy Auction Allowance (GEA-All) has been extended for another two months until August, according to Philstar Biz. This means consumers will not see the charge reflected in their electricity bills during this period.

The GEA-All is a fee collected from electricity consumers to support the government's green energy auction program, which aims to increase the share of renewable energy in the country's power mix. The suspension was initially implemented to provide relief to consumers amid rising power costs.

Industry observers noted that while the extension offers short-term relief, it may delay the development of new renewable energy projects that rely on the auction proceeds. The Energy Regulatory Commission is expected to review the policy further before the August deadline.
