GLOBE TELECOM, Inc. has connected all 180 sites awarded to the company under the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) Bayanihan SIM project, BusinessWorld reported. “Fulfilling all 180 sites entrusted to Globe supports our digital inclusion agenda and ensures that even the most remote communities can benefit from meaningful connectivity,” Globe President and Chief Executive Officer Ernest Cu said.
The Bayanihan SIM project, initiated by the DICT, aims to provide cellular connectivity to underserved and unserved areas across the Philippines. Globe’s completion of all assigned sites is a significant step toward bridging the digital divide, enabling access to communication, education, and economic opportunities in remote communities.
This achievement aligns with the government’s push for universal connectivity and the National Broadband Plan. Globe continues to invest in network infrastructure to expand coverage and improve service quality, particularly in areas with limited access to telecommunications.
