Globe Telecom Inc. has launched its satellite-to-mobile service to the public, offering subscribers connectivity access even in areas without terrestrial coverage, according to a report by Philstar Biz.

The service allows standard mobile phones to connect directly to satellites, bypassing the need for cell towers. This aims to bridge connectivity gaps in remote and disaster-prone areas across the Philippines.

Globe's satellite-to-mobile service is part of its broader push to enhance digital inclusion. The company has not yet disclosed specific pricing or the full list of compatible devices.
