Google has officially announced Googlebook, a new laptop category designed around Gemini Intelligence, as reported by TechPinas. The devices aim to blend Android experiences, cloud computing, and AI-powered productivity into a single platform, marking a significant shift from Google's traditional ChromeOS-focused approach.

Googlebook places Gemini Intelligence at the core, offering contextual assistance, proactive suggestions, and personalized workflows. It is built using parts of the Android tech stack alongside ChromeOS foundations to enable smoother interactions between laptops and smartphones. Google is collaborating with major laptop manufacturers including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo to produce premium devices featuring refined craftsmanship and a new signature element called Glowbar.

The announcement comes more than 15 years after the introduction of Chromebooks. According to Alexander Kuscher, Senior Director for Laptops & Tablets at Google, the company sees this as the perfect moment to rethink what laptops can do for modern users, moving toward an 'intelligence system' where AI is deeply integrated into the overall experience rather than functioning as a separate tool.
