Google has officially announced the Googlebook, a new laptop category designed around its Gemini Intelligence platform, according to a report by TechPinas . The move comes more than 15 years after the introduction of Chromebooks and signals a shift toward what the company calls an 'intelligence system,' where AI is deeply integrated into the computing experience rather than being an add-on.
At the core of the Googlebook is Gemini Intelligence, which provides contextual assistance, proactive suggestions, and personalized workflows. The laptops blend Android tech stack components with ChromeOS foundations, aiming for seamless interactions between laptops and smartphones. Users can move across devices more naturally and efficiently, Google says.
Google is collaborating with major laptop brands including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo to build premium Googlebook devices with refined craftsmanship and a new signature design element called the Glowbar. Alexander Kuscher, Senior Director for Laptops & Tablets at Google, described the initiative as rethinking what laptops can do for modern users.
