GoTyme Bank, a digital bank joint venture between the Gokongwei Group and South African fintech Tyme, has reached a milestone of 10 million registered users, a feat attributed to its innovative retail ATM strategy, according to a report by Asian Banking & Finance.

The bank's growth is partly driven by its network of ATMs placed inside Robinsons malls and other high-foot-traffic retail locations, making banking services more accessible to Filipinos. GoTyme's approach combines digital banking with physical touchpoints, allowing customers to open accounts and perform transactions at kiosks alongside traditional ATMs.

This milestone underscores the increasing adoption of digital banking in the Philippines, where a large unbanked population is turning to fintech solutions for convenient financial services. GoTyme's strategy of leveraging retail partners for ATM placement has proven effective in building trust and driving user acquisition in a competitive market.
