The national government's outstanding debt reached a new record high of P19.07 trillion as of end-June, the Bureau of the Treasury reported, citing data from Philstar Biz.
The debt level overshot the government's year-end projection due to net availment of both domestic and external borrowings.
Domestic debt accounted for the bulk at P12.67 trillion, while external debt stood at P6.4 trillion, according to Treasury data.
