The Marcos administration is intensifying efforts to bolster social protection and public services, according to a report by BusinessWorld. Palace Press Officer Clarissa A. Castro on Tuesday said the government is “addressing gaps in social protection systems and building national and local state capacity toward accessible, resilient public services.”

The initiative comes as the Philippines pushes to transition to an upper middle-income economy. Strengthening social safety nets and improving public service delivery are seen as critical components of this economic upgrade, ensuring that growth is inclusive and sustainable.

Castro did not provide specific timelines or budget allocations but reiterated the administration’s commitment to building a more resilient and accessible public service system. The statement aligns with broader government efforts to reduce poverty and expand social protection coverage across the country.
