GPD has announced an updated version of its MicroPC 2 handheld computer, now powered by an Intel Core 3 N350 processor. The news was first reported by YugaTech, a Philippine tech news site. The new chip replaces the previous generation processor, promising improved performance and efficiency for the compact device.
The MicroPC 2 is designed for professionals who need a portable computer for field work, programming, or network diagnostics. It features a 6-inch touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, and multiple I/O ports. The Intel Core 3 N350 is a 6-watt processor with four cores and four threads, based on the Alder Lake-N architecture, offering a balance of power and battery life.
No pricing or availability details have been announced yet for the GPD MicroPC 2 with the new processor. However, the original MicroPC 2 launched at around $500, so a similar price point is expected. The device is likely to ship later this year.
