A hacktivist group defaced the Philippine Senate website on Thursday, leaving messages calling for transparency and accountability in government, according to a report by Philstar Biz.

The group, identifying itself as local hacking activists, posted messages on the compromised site demanding that lawmakers be held responsible for alleged misuse of public funds. The defacement also included a list of grievances related to recent legislative actions.

As of press time, the Senate had not issued an official statement on the breach, but cybersecurity experts warned that the incident underscores vulnerabilities in government digital infrastructure. The website was taken offline for investigation and restoration.
