Chinese hotpot brand Banu has opened its first store in Hong Kong, marking a key step in its overseas expansion, as reported by Inside Retail Asia.

The company said it is pursuing an initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong to support its global growth plans. The listing would provide capital for further international store openings and operational scaling.

Banu's entry into Hong Kong comes as Chinese food and beverage chains increasingly look overseas for growth amid a competitive domestic market. The hotpot segment has been a popular category for international expansion, with several brands establishing presence in Southeast Asia and beyond.
