The House prosecution panel, as reported by BusinessWorld, on Monday asserted that it is ready to proceed with the impeachment trial against Vice-President Sara Duterte-Carpio, while calling on the senator-judges to proceed with the July 6 trial.
The prosecutors argued that there is no legal basis for dismissing the impeachment complaint, emphasizing the validity of the case against Duterte-Carpio. They maintained that the complaint meets all constitutional requirements and should be heard on its merits.
With the trial set to commence on July 6, the House prosecution team expressed confidence in their case, urging the Senate to fulfill its constitutional duty as an impeachment court. The panel dismissed earlier motions seeking dismissal as premature and without merit.
