Argylica Conditsis, founder of fast-growing Australian fashion brand Babyboo, has maintained tight control over core business functions even as the company expands into international markets. In an interview with Inside Retail Asia, she detailed how refusing to delegate certain responsibilities has been central to the brand's growth strategy.
Conditsis emphasized that she personally oversees product development, marketing, and customer experience, believing these areas are critical to maintaining the brand's identity. Rather than outsourcing these functions, she built in-house teams that can adapt quickly to changing trends and customer feedback.
The approach has allowed Babyboo to scale rapidly without losing its entrepreneurial edge. Conditsis noted that keeping decision-making close to the founder has enabled faster iterations and a stronger connection with the brand's community, even as the company's operations become more complex across multiple countries.
