IndiaMart, a leading Indian B2B e-commerce platform, is ramping up its use of artificial intelligence to detect and remove counterfeit products from its marketplace, according to a report by Inside Retail Asia. The company has faced persistent challenges with fake listings, which undermine buyer trust and seller credibility.

The enhanced AI system leverages machine learning algorithms to analyze product descriptions, images, and seller behavior patterns for signs of counterfeiting. IndiaMart said the technology can now identify suspicious listings in real time, reducing the window for fraudulent products to appear on the site.

The move comes as e-commerce platforms worldwide face increasing pressure to combat counterfeit goods. For IndiaMart, which connects millions of buyers and suppliers across India, the AI upgrade is part of a broader effort to maintain platform integrity and protect its brand reputation.
