Infrastructure supporting AI development to be focus of DICT’s industry masterplan

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is preparing a masterplan to accelerate the development of infrastructure that supports artificial intelligence (AI), according to a report by BusinessWorld .

Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda said the agency will hold a meeting this month to discuss regulation and policies related to AI. The masterplan aims to address the infrastructure needs that will enable the growth of AI technologies in the Philippines.

The initiative reflects the government's focus on positioning the country as a competitive player in the AI sector, with infrastructure development as a key priority to support innovation and adoption.
