State-run Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) has approved P2.25 billion in loans for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under its dedicated lending program as of April, the lender announced. The figure was reported by Philstar Biz on June 15.
The loans are part of Landbank’s initiative to expand credit access for underserved businesses nationwide. MSMEs account for a significant portion of the country’s economy, and the program aims to provide affordable financing to help them recover and grow.
The approval reflects the bank’s continued support for small businesses amid ongoing economic challenges. Landbank has been actively rolling out lending programs targeting sectors that typically have difficulty securing loans from commercial banks.
