Lenovo has announced a major technology deployment for the FIFA World Cup 2026, delivering a near real-time AI-powered infrastructure platform. According to TechPinas, the platform will support broadcasting, operations, and fan experiences across three host countries, 48 teams, and an estimated six billion viewers.
A key component of the infrastructure is near real-time IPTV broadcast distribution with sub-five-second latency, enabling synchronized viewing across over 1,000 screens in FIFA venues. Additionally, Lenovo's enterprise solutions will power an AI Mission Control center at the International Broadcast Center in Dallas and a Technology Command Center in Miami to monitor and manage critical tournament operations.
For fans, the technology delivers AI-driven innovations including 3D player avatars, enhanced referee perspectives, intelligent venue navigation, and advanced analytics. These features aim to make the 2026 World Cup more immersive and accessible, underscoring the growing role of technology in the world's most-watched sporting event.
