According to TechPinas , Lenovo has announced it is delivering a near real-time AI-powered infrastructure platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The tournament, spanning three host countries with 48 national teams, is expected to engage an estimated six billion fans worldwide.
The AI infrastructure reduces IPTV broadcast delays to under five seconds, enabling synchronized viewing across more than 1,000 screens in FIFA venues. Lenovo is also deploying an AI Mission Control from the International Broadcast Center in Dallas to the Technology Command Center in Miami to monitor critical tournament operations.
Fan experiences are enhanced through AI-driven innovations such as 3D player avatars, enhanced referee perspectives, intelligent venue navigation, and advanced analytics platforms. The technology backbone aims to make the world’s most watched sporting event more immersive, transparent, and accessible.
