Local government units (LGUs) will receive a higher national tax allotment (NTA) next year amounting to P1.32 trillion, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said, as reported by Philstar Biz.
The increased allotment gives LGUs more fiscal capacity to bankroll infrastructure and welfare projects, according to the DBM. The NTA is computed based on national government tax revenues and is a key source of funding for local development programs.
The record allocation underscores the government's commitment to devolution and local autonomy, enabling provinces, cities, and municipalities to address local needs more effectively.
