LNGPH, the multibillion-dollar gas venture of Manuel V. Pangilinan, Ramon Ang and Sabin Aboitiz, has tapped Japan’s Mitsubishi Power to ensure the reliable operation of its large gas-fired facility in Batangas, Philstar Biz reported.
The agreement covers long-term maintenance and support services for Mitsubishi Power’s gas turbines installed at the LNGPH facility. The deal is aimed at maximizing plant availability, efficiency, and reliability as the facility plays a key role in the country’s energy security.
The Batangas plant is part of a broader push by Philippine conglomerates to secure natural gas supply amid the Malampaya gas field’s decline. LNGPH has been investing heavily in infrastructure to import liquefied natural gas and generate power for the Luzon grid.
