President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday pledged sustained funding for the Philippine Air Force (PAF) modernization, according to a report by BusinessWorld. The commitment aims to boost territorial defense capabilities amid an increasingly challenging regional security environment.
The modernization program includes the planned acquisition of long-range patrol aircraft, additional Black Hawk and Bell 412 EPX helicopters, and advanced surveillance systems. These acquisitions are part of the government's accelerated efforts to enhance the PAF's capabilities in protecting Philippine territory.
The funding pledge was made during an event at Villamor Air Base, where PAF officials expressed gratitude for continued support. Defense modernization remains a key priority for the administration as it addresses evolving security threats in the region.
