Mindanao Railway funding still up in the air, DoTr says

The Department of Transportation (DoTr) is still seeking funding partners for the Mindanao Railway project, with Transportation Undersecretary for Railways Timothy John R. Batan telling reporters that the agency continues to engage with bilateral partners and development banks, according to a report by BusinessWorld.

The long-stalled project aims to connect key cities in Mindanao through a railway system, but has faced delays due to funding challenges. Previous attempts to secure financing from foreign partners have not materialized, leaving the project's timeline uncertain.

DoTr officials have not provided a specific timeline for when funding might be secured, but emphasized that discussions with potential development partners are ongoing. The project remains a priority for the administration despite the financial hurdles.
