Mitsukoshi BGC, the Japanese department store located in Bonifacio Global City, is celebrating its third anniversary this month with a series of festivities inspired by the Tanabata festival, according to a report by PeopleAsia. The event aims to bring the spirit of the traditional Japanese star festival to Filipino shoppers.
The anniversary celebration features special decorations, limited-edition merchandise, and cultural activities that highlight the Tanabata tradition, where people write wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches. Mitsukoshi BGC also offers exclusive promotions and dining experiences to mark the milestone.
Mitsukoshi, a flagship department store chain from Japan, has been operating in BGC since 2022, bringing a curated selection of Japanese brands, luxury goods, and gourmet food to the Philippine market. The third-anniversary festivities are expected to run through the end of July.
