The Palace announced there will be no suspension of the minimum wage hike in Metro Manila, with the first P60 tranche taking effect on July 25, as reported by Philstar Biz.

The wage increase was approved earlier this year to help workers cope with rising costs of living, despite appeals from some business groups for a deferral.

The Department of Labor and Employment is expected to monitor compliance, while labor groups welcomed the confirmation that the increase will push through without delay.
