The Office of the Ombudsman has filed graft and malversation charges against Pacifico “Curlee” F. Discaya II and Cezarah Rowena “Sarah” C. Discaya, along with Public Works officials in Bulacan, before the Malolos Regional Trial Court, BusinessWorld reported.

The case stems from an alleged anomalous P53.9-million flood control project. The Discayas are owners of St. Timothy Construction, which was involved in the project. Also charged were Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials in Bulacan, though their names were not immediately disclosed.

The Ombudsman's filing marks the escalation of a long-running probe into the project. The accused face up to 30 years in prison if convicted. The court has yet to issue arrest warrants.
