Housing loan releases by the Home Mutual Development Fund, or Pag-IBIG Fund, climbed by 15 percent to P69.19 billion in the first half of 2026 from P60.25 billion a year earlier, according to Philstar Biz.
The increase was largely driven by a surge in socialized housing loans under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (Expanded 4PH). The initiative, which aims to address the country's housing backlog, provides subsidized financing for low-income families.
The strong first-half performance signals sustained demand for affordable housing and reflects the government's push to expand homeownership among Filipino workers. Pag-IBIG Fund continues to play a key role in the national housing strategy.
