Philippine Airlines (PAL) has applied for government approval to resume direct flights between the Philippines and India, according to a report by Philstar Biz.
The flag carrier previously operated flights to Indian destinations but suspended them during the pandemic due to travel restrictions and low demand. The revival would restore a key air link between the two countries, which have seen growing trade and tourism ties in recent years.
If granted, the new flights are expected to benefit Filipino overseas workers in India and Indian tourists visiting the Philippines, while bolstering PAL's network in South Asia. The approval process typically involves the Civil Aeronautics Board and slot coordination at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
