PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has ordered the Department of Energy (DoE) to stabilize the power supply and grid conditions across Luzon and the Visayas, the Palace said, as reported by BusinessWorld .
Palace Press Officer Clarissa A. Castro said on Thursday that the President met this week with Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin to discuss the status of national power generation and distribution. The meeting highlighted ongoing concerns about grid reliability, particularly in regions prone to outages.
The directive comes amid rising demand and aging infrastructure challenges. The DoE is expected to accelerate maintenance schedules and coordinate with power producers to ensure stable electricity supply, especially during peak summer months.
