Pasig Mega Market has deployed Starlink satellite internet to enable cashless payments, according to a report by YugaTech. The initiative aims to modernize transactions at the public market.
The connectivity upgrade supports the Paleng-QR Ph Plus program, a government-led push to promote digital payments in wet markets and public spaces. By using Starlink, the market bypasses traditional internet infrastructure limitations.
The move is expected to reduce reliance on cash, improve transaction efficiency for vendors and customers, and align with broader financial inclusion goals in the Philippines.
