Yuchengco-led PetroGreen Energy Corp. has received an environmental compliance certificate (ECC) for its planned utility-scale solar farm in Capiz, moving the project closer to construction, according to Philstar Biz .
The solar farm, with a planned capacity of up to 50 megawatts, will be located in the municipality of Dumarao, Capiz. PetroGreen, a subsidiary of the Yuchengco Group's PetroEnergy Resources Corp., is developing the project to support the government's renewable energy targets and help address power supply needs in the Visayas region.
The ECC, issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), signals that the project meets environmental standards. PetroGreen now needs to secure other permits and finalize financing before breaking ground. The company expects construction to begin by the first half of 2026.
